Qtrixie and Yivdo Have Been Busy

I, qtrixie, retired 3 years ago and Yivdo has been in college.  We still play but have not had time to update the blog.

The game is moving so fast.  It is hard for me to understand all the nuances.  I finally got into Prifddinas.

Just got 99 in firemaking.  That is my 5th skill cape.  Woo hoo!

Runescape Road Trip!

You have all month to accomplish 20 tasks.

Info here.  Don’t forget to set your task in your book!

Rest for 1 minute – rest for 1 minute or until the fireworks go off.

Run from the Shanty Pass to the gates of Sophanem without waterskins.  Wear dessert clothing, take along food and energy pots.  Get ready to run.  Click on Shanty Pass and then run like hell.  I consulted the map first and found that by going east and taking the bridge and then running south and a bit west I got to the gates of Sophanem pretty quickly.  CLICK on the gates.

Survive in the Wilderness for 10 minutes.  I went a bit east of the GE to right above the bar by the lumberyard and stepped over the wall and a couple of steps north.  You will see a message that you have started your 10 minutes.  Nothing there to attack you.  WEAR NOTHING.  Just ran out my time by walking around every few minutes.

 

Burn 100 logs – any logs work

Make 100 runes – I used the air altar and filled up my rune bags.  Took 2 trips.

Smith 100 bars into anything – Use the anvils.  Buy iron bars and make throwing knives.  Then sell them.

Fletch 100 bows.  Use regular logs and fletch bows, no need to string them.  Then sell them.

Do a dance over every bridge over the River Lum – Get out the map and start from the south and make sure you hit them all.  Make sure you get the message on each bridge you danced on.

Equip a full outfit of cosmetic gear – This one was tricky.  I had to go to my house and take an outfit out of my fancy dress box.  I used the zombie outfit because of all the pieces.  The frog princess would not work.

Bury 100 bones in the Salve Temple Graveyard – Pretty easy task.  Nothing here to attack you! I teleported to my house and then used my teleport room to get to Canifis.  Walked west to the bridge.  I took the shortcut pictured below.  Click on pic for larger view.

Then I went north to the Graveyard.  You can also run from Varrock too.

 

Complete a quest or Tears of Guthix – I did Tears of Guthix.

Feed 10 breadcrumbs to a duck – In Fally park find Drake running around outside the pond.  Bring 10 loaves of bread and use a knife to cut the bread.  You have 20 seconds to feed Drake 10 times.  I could not do it.

 

Spring Fun!

I love the daily butterfly catch.  You merely click on a butterfly that has a “catch butterfly” designation and get xp for your lowest skill.  You can catch 20 butterflies each day.  I have gone up 4 levels in the past week in Divination.

How are you all liking Runescape 3?

I am not too happy with all the changes.  I really dislike the new combat.  I hate that all the work I have done for skills now net almost $0.  So many things going on.  I do like the daily challenges and the Super September challenges.

Hati and Skoll – Winter Event 2013

This link will get you going.

• First get your armor on and you best weapon and tons of food or prayer pots.
• Go to Fremennik via the lyre, walking or seeing the wolf hunter in Barbarian Village.
• Now talk to Vali outside the gates of Fremennik.  If you did this last year she will replace your wolf hat and gloves.
• She will tell you to see his  Vitharr to the far west.
• YOU MUST SEE HER TO START AND GET REWARDS.  Just walk the the far west by the coast.
• You then go to the far east and once again kill Hati who will recharge your gloves and give you a cloak (just for looks).
• Then rearm and go back to Vitharr, talk to her,  and build a fire and keep adding logs to the black pit next to her.
• This will summon Skoll and you kill him to get the boots that have xp rewards.
• You can also get the boots and amulet this year.  It may take more than 1 time to kill the Skoll to get all the rewards.

DO NOT FIGHT ALONE GET WITH A GANG OR JUST JOIN IN SOMEONE FIGHTING.

God Statues a New Distraction and Diversion for Members

I put it off a couple of weeks and then just went up to Lumbridge and did the first statue.  It was soooo easy!  You can make up to 4 statues each month.  I started off at Lumbridge near Fred the Farmer (look for the yellow distraction and diversion symbol).  If you know the god that covers that area you can avoid any fighting and cruise through all the statues.  This link will take you to a great site to get you going.

Stray in the Manger – Runescape Christmas Event 2012

Pretty easy little quest for the Christmas event this year.  Head on over to Draynor using the loadstone.  Just north of the loadstone is your start point.  Talk to the little dude and be on your way.

• For all players – f2p and p2p (members)
• You must find 4 stray dogs around Runescape.  A highlighted area will appear.
• 1 Dog just to the south at the old jail – click on dog to “Reindeerize it” it will then disappear.
• 1 Dog just south of Fally telepoint.  Head south to the castle but not over the bridge.
• 1 Dog just north of Al Kharid loadstone.
• 1 Dog just north (bit east) of Varrock loadstone – in slums area.
• Go back to little dude and he will give you a bucket of water, you will see the 4 dogs right there.  Use bucket on each dog to clean them.  Go back to little dude.  Quest complete.
• Rewards – everyone gets a santa beard.  Members get to take a dog and choose a dog house spot.  Mine is Varrock at Gertrude’s house.  You have to go to the location and click on hotspot to build the doghouse.  Open up the gift in your inventory and get a dog dish to add to your house.  Keep trading your gift with other players to receive more upgrades to your doghouse.  Members can also go on a imp hunt to gain hunter xp.

Qtrixie Gets Skulled and Other Musings

Well, this is what happened, I was in the wildy trying to spy the penguins.  Some guy was blocking the lever to get back to safety and started to hit me.  I had nothing on and no weapon.  I think I killed him.  YIKES!

There is so much going on in Runescape.  I am trying to get to 99 agility and have 499k xp left out of 1.3m xp.  I just can’t keep running around a course so I use my penguin points, Jack of Trades points and any lamp I get a hold of.  I took a break and got into doing some tasks and finished the Seers tasks and got almost 200k xp in lamps WOOO HOOO.

XP Weekend is Back! For Everyone – Woooo Hoooo

Now free players can join in on the fun.  From noon Saturday, October 27 through noon Monday, October 29, GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).  Here is a link to time conversion.  For us in Detroit it will be from 7:00 am Saturday through 7:00 am Monday.

For all you players who have not had experience with XP events – YOU WILL LOVE IT.  You can get a bunch of points on different skills or if you are like me, you will pick a skill and prepare and then get your cape.

How do you prepare?  Get everything ready.  If you want to cook then make sure you have all your food ready and in your bank.  Want to smith?  Get your ores ready and banked.

Festival of the Dead – Members Event

This is a pretty easy and beneficial event.  You do not need any armor.  First look at this link and scroll down.  Get 3 wet clays for every event you can do (from the list of requirements) and mold them into masks.  You do not need to dye them or bake them.

Now head down to Father Joakim just south of the Lumbridge grave yard.  Speak to him to get your first assignment.  Use the link above to get the artifact.  The first assignment you just go north to the dungeon in the graveyard and when you enter use the immediate door on your left to go downstairs your artifact will be right there at the bottom.

Go back to Father Joakim and click on the flower box by the coffin.  You will get a bouquet of flowers.  Click on coffin to “decorate” and then you will go into a cut screen……….

Repeat steps for all the assignments you can do.

Yivdo is on Fire!!!!!! 99 Attack
